About Lee

I was born and raised in Coral Gables, FL (part of Miami.) Went to college at SMU in Dallas. Graduated in ‘88 with a Fine Art degree. Bounced around with lots of weird jobs, and then settled on teaching art at a local, public middle school. Lived in Boone, NC for three years teaching art, then came scampering back to my roots and moved home in ‘99. Started doing artshows in 2002....where I met my husband Russ, who is also an artist. Got married in 2004 and now live in Indialantic, FL (part of Melbourne.)
It makes perfect sense for me to paint dog portraits. I love dogs, (sometimes more than people!) I was single when I adopted my first dog, Jake, from the Humane Society of Miami about seven years ago. A year later, I got Roscoe. Then, the following year......Ellie! My family said I’d never find a man who would put up with three ‘wild -n-crazy’ dogs.....but, alas, God is bigger than my family’s fears and now I’m married to an amazing man, Russ, who has a better relationship with them than I do (but that’s because he can throw a frisbee and I can’t!!!! Not fair!) We have a pretty fun household. Along with the three dogs, we also have two lovebirds.

It is an absolute blessing to be able to paint for a living, and I thank God every day for giving me such a great life!
