Although it seems like it now, I have not always been a dog portrait painter! Like most artists, I have gone through some transitions with my work. My previous body of work was large paintings of fruit and veggies. I toured the artshow circuit for a few years selling them, but it's not easy convincing someone to buy a 4' tall painting of asparagus for $1000! Shortly afterwards I decided traveling to artshows was not how I wanted to spend my time. Thats when the dog portraits became my focus and I haven't regretted it yet.
